I love movies. They make me happy and help me escape when I need it the most. Here are my top 10 (for now):
10.The Celestine Prophecy (w/ Matthew Settle & Sarah Wayne Callies)
9. The Burbs (w/ Tom Hanks & Carrie Fisher)
8. Elizabethtown (w/ Orlando Bloom & Kirsten Dunst)
7. Jake's Corner (w/ Richard Tyson & Colton Rodgers)
6. Say Anything (w/ John Cusack & Ione Skye)
5. Tremors (w/ Kevin Bacon & Fred Ward)
4. It's a Wonderful Life (w/ Donna Reed & James Stewart)
3. Gone Fishin' (w/ Danny Glover & Joe Pesci)
2. Manhattan Murder Mystery (w/ Woody Allen & Diane Keaton)
1. Rear Window (w/ Grace Kelly & James Stewart)
I love all kinds of movies. I love Hitchcock and Woody Allen. I recently watched Donnie Darko for the second time and it just blows my mind as does David Lynch's Mullholland Drive. Cafe with Jennifer Love is a beautiful movie. I love anything with John Cusack and Molly Ringwald. I've seen all of the Mummy, Indiana Jones & National Treasure movies - I love adventure films. One of the newest movies out that I feel is amazing is Lawless with Tom Hardy. I love his character, Forest.
Say Anything made my list too. Gotta love Lloyd Dobler.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I've been looking for a "I love Lloyd Dobler" t-shirt:)
DeleteI feel that Elizabethtown was a film that should have got more praise... really a fantastic film.

Elizabethtown is one of those movies with lines so good that you just have to sigh.
DeleteTremors - excellent choice!
ReplyDeleteMy fav John Cusack movie is Grosse Point Blank.
I've seen Tremors hundreds of times and I still laugh throughout the movie. I forgot about Grosse Point Blank. That's a great movie as well. I even love John Cusack in Sixteen Candles:)
DeleteYou have some on your list that I need to put in my Netflix queue. Great list.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't seen Jacob's Corner, you'd love it. It has a spiritual aspect to it and it is very good-natured.
DeleteWoody Allen and Donnie Darko fan here :)
ReplyDeleteMy other favorite Woody Allen movie is Deconstructing Harry. I love how all of his characters come to life.
DeleteOh, I love Elizabethtown!! I was going to put it on my top 10, but it's so hard to narrow it down. It's just a beautiful film. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see this movie I cry during Susan Sarandon's tap dance scene.
DeleteTremors, yay! I love that film; it's shocking in places and yet hilarious as well. I have to agree with my sister who already commented (Sophie Duncan) that Grosse Pointe Blank is my fav John Cusack movie, closely followed by Con Air, but he is great in so many films including Say Anything.
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot that he was in Con Air and I love that movie. Another good John Cusack movie is Identity. The only one I didn't really like him in was Paperboy. He was awesome in it but just too opposite of Lloyd Dobler.
DeleteElizabethtown is a movie that I recommend to everyone I know. I'm going to go get it out right now since it's been a few years. It is a seriously good movie. My favorite Woody movie is Hannah and Her Sisters. Mia Farrow is a favorite of mine. Almost any movie with Jimmy Stewart does it for me, even if he mainly just plays Jimmy Stewart in most of them.
ReplyDeleteGeez, with everyone commenting about Elizabethtown, I think I'm going to have to watch it tonight, too. Enjoy!
DeleteTremors! Now that was a fun monster movie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in my blogfest.
Of course. Thanks for hosting this blogfest. It was a lot of fun & brought back a lot of good memories.
DeleteForgot all about Gone Fishin, that was a fun one, great list.
ReplyDeleteNot many people have seen Gone Fishin'. I'm happy to know there are others out there who enjoy Joe & Gus as much as I do.
DeleteI didn't realize there was a movie version for the Celestine Prophecy. I'd have to check that out.

It's low budget but it's really good. It was also filmed in the town I live in and the college I went to is superimposed into a rainforest - very cool.
DeleteThese are mostly new to me, except for It's a Wonderful Life and Rear Window. I guess I'm rooted in the old classics.
ReplyDeleteI love the classics as well. It was just really difficult to pick only 10 movies. I love anything with Grace Kelly, Jimmy Stewart, Lucille Ball and Marilyn Monroe.
DeleteI love Molly Ringwald movies! They take me back to my childhood and always make me feel happy.
ReplyDeleteMe too! My favorite is Sixteen Candles.
ReplyDeleteSO many of your favorites are mine, too! My husband and I just recently worked through all The Mummy movies, I've seen all the Indiana Jones movies, and just watched the second National Treasure for the first time. :) And I LOVE Elizabethtown. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to keeping up with you for the A to Z Challenge! :)

Thanks, Jaimie. Same name. Same taste in movies:) I look forward to your A to Z posts as well. Thanks.
DeleteI haven't seen any of the movies you listed, not even It's A Wonderful Life which I believe everyone has seen. I need to watch it, I always wait for Christmas though and then forget. Some of the others you listed I might see if I can find, they sound like ones I would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAdventure movies are always good.
I bought It's a Wonderful Life and the DVD is so different from the version I usually watch on TV. There's much more to it & it's really awesome. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteI think the only one of these I've seen is Rear Window - did enjoy that one! :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Rear Window. I think that I've seen it a couple hundred times:) Grace Kelly is amazing in that movie.
DeleteJust dropping by from the blog hop. Sadly, the only movie I've seen from your list is "Elizabethtown".
ReplyDeleteEven though "Elizabethtown" is the only one you've seen, it's such a wonderful movie. I just watched it again two nights ago & still love it.
