Luminous Moments

I've experienced many luminous moments throughout my life and I am very thankful for them.  Some are big milestones like my wedding or college graduation.  Others aren't as substantial but no less significant.


Pink Flowers

Like walking downtown with my husband and being drawn to the vividness of these flowers.  Or missing how my dog would snuggle with us when it stormed in the night.  I will always remember my dad resting his hand on my knee when we rode in a car together.  Summer picnics on the beach after work.  How the very first sip of iced coffee makes me feel instantly better.  Finding the perfect shell.     

These are the moments that make life worth living.  What are some of your favorite luminous moments?

    Lovely post. I experience those luminous moments whenever my kids rush up to hug me or whisper "I love you" in my ear. I live for those beautiful moments. ☺

      I don't have kids but, if I did, I'd treasure those "I love you" moments, too:)

    I often wonder about moments - the luminous and the dull. I see my life's moment's forming the scenes of my life where I may struggle or sail freely. Either way, my life's moments make me.

      I also believe that all moments make us who we are - the good, the bad & the ugly. Strength & perseverance are amazing qualities.

    My latest luminous moment was being there to watch my beautiful granddaughter Alice being born. An amazing, wonderful, luminous moment!!

      My mom was able to watch my nephew being born. I know that it was the most amazing experience for her.

    One of mine would be my dad holding, or trying to...hold my hand when we crossed a big road, even when I was in my twenties!

    One of mine is from when my brother and I were at the same college. He'd go with me to the press screenings of movies, and afterward we'd go to IHOP and talk about the film. It's a ritual I really missed after I graduated and moved away, but I'm grateful for all the time we got to spend hanging out back then.

      That sounds like so much fun. Your comment makes me miss my sister. It's difficult when family lives so far away but it does make our memories so much more special.

      Thanks, Arlee. I agree - it's the little things that are amazing. Like this evening - it's raining and thundering. I love these sounds. They make me feel so at peace with the world.
